Comprehensive Cancer Centers presents patients with a full suite of care options under the consistent management of a team of oncologists working in unison.
For Comprehensive Cancer Centers, the word ‘comprehensive’ represents the continuum of care the practice provides its patients in Southern Nevada. This includes all of the practice’s specially trained team members, who collaborate to ensure every detail of a patient’s care is customized to their needs and carried out with compassion.
The team at Comprehensive Cancer Centers is comprised of specialists including medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, as well as breast surgeons pulmonologists, all of which are assisted by the practice’s team of skilled and experienced advanced practice providers.
- Medical Oncologists: These physicians have special training in diagnosing and treating cancer using chemotherapy, hormone therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy, as appropriate for each patient’s situation. A medical oncologist often serves in the role of lead health care provider for a patient undergoing cancer treatment.
- Radiation Oncologists: These physicians have special training using external and or internal radiation to treat cancer. Radiation oncologists often work with a medical dosimetrist and/or a medical physicist to ensure treatment plans are tailored to the patient for their cancer.
- Breast Surgeons: These physicians are surgeons with special training in performing biopsies and other surgical procedures on cancer patients. For Comprehensive’s practice, this team includes breast surgeons.
- Pulmonologists: A team of board-certified pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, nurse practitioners, and administrative support staff who are dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients with lung disease and sleep disorders.
Comprehensive’s team of physicians is also active in leading clinical research efforts, with the practice running a normal case load of 150 active research studies. These studies afford patients access to advanced medicine often only available to Comprehensive. These treatments have been found to extend lives when no other options were available. Clinical research leads to new drugs becoming FDA approved and becoming standard treatment options. Comprehensive’s work in this area has led to the approval of now at least 100 new treatments coming market. To see a list of active research studies, click here.
