October is the official month for breast cancer awareness, and some of Las Vegas’ most prominent businesses are showing their support for the cause. Look for these upcoming events and attractions to help raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research.

1. Pink Paper Breakfast – October 2nd
Join the Las Vegas Review-Journal for breakfast at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino on Wednesday, October 2. A breakfast buffet will be served in celebration of the RJ’s Pink Paper, published on Tuesday, October 1, featuring stories about breast cancer survivors, inspirational cancer quotes, and even fashion.
2. Fit for the Cure – Various Dates in October
Lingerie manufacturer, Wacoal, announced its Fit for the Cure campaign being held at various Dillards and Macy’s locations around Las Vegas for the month of October. For every woman that gets a fitting at one of the participating locations, Wacoal will donate $2 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The company will also donate a portion of the proceeds from all product sales from the events. To find a participating location near you, click here!
3. Dragon Boat Festival – October 5th
St. Rose Dominican Hospital is hosting the 5th Annual Rose Regatta Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Las Vegas on Saturday, October 5. The event is open to the public, so whether you are part of a team, or cheering one on, the day is sure to be full of fun and excitement for a good cause. Proceeds from the event go to support the R.E.D Rose Program at St. Rose, which helps more than 600 women a year seeking breast health services.
4. Aliante Casino’s Spa Day for Breast Cancer – Last Week of October
Aliante Casino & Hotel will partner with Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month by hosting 10 current patients for a VIP spa day and overnight stay during the last week of October.
Each woman and their guest will also enjoy a complimentary meal at MRKT Sea & Land, Aliante’s signature steakhouse serving all-natural dishes made from scratch, a night’s stay in a deluxe hotel room and a spa gift bag featuring organic lotions and products. The women will have the opportunity to choose any day of the week for their exclusive ‘staycation.’
5. 9th Annual Par for the Cure – October 4th and 5th
The 9th Annual Par for the Cure Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Bear’s Best Golf Course on Friday, October 4th. Participants will start off with a continental breakfast and Bloody Mary Bar at 7am followed by a shotgun scramble and awards lunch.
On Saturday, October 5th participants will attend the Grapes & Hops Festival at The Springs Preserve. The festival opens at 5pm and will feature 20 stations of wine, 20 stations of beer and amazing food from El Segundo Sol, Stripburger, Mon Ami Gabi, Sin City Snoballs & Snacks, and Cupcake Choas by Brandi. A portion of the proceeds from the weekend’s events will go toward breast cancer research.
6. Premium Outlets Pink Event – Month of October
Throughout the month of October, the Las Vegas Premium Outlets – North will collect $10 donations at the on-site Information Center. Participating shops will offer discounts to those who donate.
Representatives from the Southern Nevada affiliate of Susan G. Komen will be on-site Friday, October 11 from 10am-5:30pm to answer questions about breast health, treatment options and other local resources.
