Sports have the power to inspire, and one of the most inspiring sports teams in Las Vegas is the Las Vegas Aces, the city’s WNBA franchise. The team thrills fans with its world-class athletes, playing fast-paced and exciting basketball.

Comprehensive Cancer Centers is a proud partner of the Aces, working with the team this season to celebrate another team that inspires: breast cancer patients, survivors and forever fighters.

An integral part of the partnership between Comprehensive Cancer Centers and the Las Vegas Aces is Every Point Counts. The practice has committed to donate $20 to the American Cancer Society for every free throw made by the team this season during each home game. Comprehensive Cancer and the Aces are highlighting the partnership, and the progress of the program, by teaming up for a Breast Cancer Awareness Night to be held on August 20. This title game will feature breast cancer patients and physicians from Comprehensive Cancer Centers throughout the game. To purchase Las Vegas Aces tickets, visit aces.wnba.com

“Comprehensive Cancer Centers is proud to support the talented women of the Las Vegas Aces who prove that hard work, determination, and a competitive spirit drive you to achieve your goals,” said Stephani Christensen, medical oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers.  “We see the same strength, courage and spirit in the women we treat every day for breast cancer and are glad that some of them are going to be recognized during the Aces’ Breast Cancer Awareness Night.”

In August, Buckets, the mascot for the Las Vegas Aces, stopped by one of our treatment centers to visit with patients and staff.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Night, patients from Comprehensive Cancer Centers will be recognized on-court for their courageous battle and incredible journeys.

Part of Comprehensive Cancer’s patient philosophy is to provide excellence in breast cancer care using the highest standards, newest technologies available and access to the latest clinical research. The team believes that some of the most important treatments are preventative. Through breast health advocacy, early detection and regular prevention screenings — all part of the messaging the practice shares with fans in attendance at Aces games — the team’s goal is to stop cancer before it strikes. In cases where cancer treatment is necessary, Comprehensive Cancer Centers pursues a multidisciplinary approach, creating individualized treatment plans where the patient’s personal needs come first.
