Michael J. Anderson, MD, is part of Comprehensive Cancer’s radiation oncology team that provides world-class cancer care in a supportive and caring environment.

EDUCATION
Michael J. Anderson, MD, received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry The State University of New York (SUNY) in 1990. He earned his medical degree in 1995 from the SUNY Upstate Medical University. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Anderson completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Mount Sinai Health System – New York City.

AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST
All cancers with a special interest in clinical research, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and High Dose Rate Brachytherapy for breast cancer.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Anderson is a radiation oncologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers. He has authored/co-authored several publications and served as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Sunrise Hospital Cancer Committee from 2007-2009 and was a member of the IRB committee at University Medical Center from 2006-2009. Dr. Anderson was vital in starting and developing the practice’s accelerated partial breast irradiation program.

Prior to joining Comprehensive in 2012, he worked in private practice as a radiation oncologist in Las Vegas. Dr. Anderson was the Associate Director for the Department of Radiation Oncology at the NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst from 2001-2002.

Dr. Anderson has been recognized as a Medical Marvel by the Nevada Business Magazine and Top Doctors by Castle Connolly, VEGAS INC Health Care Quarterly and Vegas Seven magazine. He has also been recognized among America’s Most Honored Professionals by The American Registry.

PERSONAL
In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys skiing, traveling, basketball and wine collecting.
