M. Ahsan Alamgir, M.D. is part of Comprehensive Cancer’s team of medical oncologists that provide patient treatment in a supportive and caring environment.

EDUCATION
Dr. M Ahsan Alamgir completed his Internal Medicine residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York and Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at West Virginia University in Morgantown.

AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST
Dr. Alamgir provides comprehensive care for patients from the full spectrum of cancers and blood disorders ranging from anemia to leukemia. He has a special interest in lung cancer and cancers of the head and neck.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Alamgir is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers where he treats patients with wide range of cancers and complex blood disorders. He is actively involved in clinical research and is committed to bringing the latest evidence-based therapies to his patients.

After completing his fellowship, Dr. Alamgir began practicing in Las Vegas in 2017. He previously served as a Medical Oncologist and Hematologist with Intermountain Health in Las Vegas before joining Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) in West Virginia. At CAMC, he served as Core Faculty and played an integral role in developing and launching the Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program, helping establish its educational curriculum and clinical training framework.

During his time at CAMC, Dr. Alamgir represented Medical Oncology at the weekly multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board, collaborating with specialists to develop individualized treatment strategies for patients with lung cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, mesothelioma, thymoma, and other thoracic malignancies. He also participated in the weekly multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic, where patients met with surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nurse navigators, counselors, and other specialists during a single visit to receive a coordinated, personalized treatment plan.

Following the successful establishment of the fellowship program, Dr. Alamgir returned to Las Vegas to join Comprehensive Cancer Centers.

PERSONAL
Dr. Alamgir lives in Las Vegas with his wife and their three children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing soccer and badminton, hiking, bowling, and spending quality time with family and friends. He is fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi.
