K. Saad Jahangir, MD

K. Saad Jahangir, M.D. is part of Comprehensive Cancer’s team of medical oncologists that provide patient treatment in a supportive and caring environment.

EDUCATION
K. Saad Jahangir earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery internship at SUNY at Syracuse University, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Jahangir completed a geriatrics fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in New York and a hematology/oncology fellowship at Louisiana State University.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Jahangir is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Previously, Dr. Jahangir worked as the Director of Clinical Trials and Research for OptumCare Cancer Care Center in Nevada, where he pioneered a “ground up” research program at OptumCare Las Vegas, developing its philosophy, goals and operational framework. His leadership led to the creation and launch of a Precision Medicine Program that significantly accelerates clinical trial openings, achieving national and global recognition for its exceptional performance and resulting an international award for research and innovation given to one recipient within UnitedHealth Group/Optum each year.

Dr. Jahangir serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and holds leadership positions as co-chair of the Summerlin Hospital Oncology Division and Cancer Committee, as well as Vice Chair of UMC Institutional Review Board functioning as gatekeeper for research activities within the chapter.

AREA OF SPECIAL INTEREST
Dr. Jahangir’s special interests lie in the treatment of geriatric and genitourinary cancer.

PERSONAL
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Jahangir enjoys expressing his creativity through painting and sketching. He is an avid sports enthusiast, participating in athletics, cricket, tennis, skiing and horseback riding. Dr. Jahangir has a unique interest in stamp and coin collecting and is fluent in both spoken and written Urdu and Punjabi.
