EDUCATION
Imran Ahmed, MD, completed medical school at Khyber Medical College and Ayub Medical College in Pakistan and his internal medicine residency at Jersey City Medical Center, where he was chief medical resident. During his fellowship in hematology/medical oncology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, he was chief fellow in his third year. He also received the institution’s Fellow of the Year Award as well as the Rose and Jack Horowitz Fellow Award for excellence in patient care.
AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST
Treats all oncology, hematology and benign hematology cases with special interest in upper gastrointestinal cancers, multiple myeloma, lung cancer, and breast cancer.
EXPERIENCE
Dr. Ahmed is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers, where he treats all cancer and serious blood disorders. He sees patients at the practice’s Northwest treatment center.
Prior to joining Comprehensive, he was a medical oncologist at Las Vegas Cancer Center and University of Minnesota Physicians.
PERSONAL
Dr. Ahmed enjoys playing tennis with his kids and going to group gym classes with his wife. He also likes traveling to national parks and abroad. He is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Pushto.
