Henry P. Igid, MD, is part of Comprehensive Cancer’s medical oncology team that provides world-class cancer care in a supportive and caring environment.

EDUCATION
Henry P. Igid, MD, graduated with honors from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in basic medical sciences as well as a Doctor of Medicine degree. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut and three-year fellowship in hematology and oncology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

AREAS OF SPECIAL INTEREST
All cancers and serious blood disorders with a special interest in anemia, myeloma, lymphoma, leukemia, lung cancer and gastrointestinal malignancies.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Igid is a medical oncologist and hematologist at Comprehensive Cancer Centers. Prior to joining Comprehensive, he served as a chief fellow during his hematology and oncology fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Igid previously served as a medical physician at Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital in the Philippines. He was also a guest faculty member and taught medical students at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. In his spare time, he volunteers in teaching the community about cancer prevention. He is a recipient of VEGAS INC 40 under 40 for 2020, which honors young professionals who are making an impact in their community and chosen industry.

PERSONAL
Dr. Igid loves to travel and explore different parts of the world with friends and family. When travelling, he makes time to learn about a place’s food and history by trying local cuisines and visiting local museums. He keeps himself active by running, swimming and playing badminton during his free time. He is also fluent in Tagalog and Ilocano.

PATIENT PHILOSOPHY
As a doctor who treats cancer, I strive to understand how my patients’ lives are affected by their illness. Doing so helps me address my patient’s medical needs and expectations to offer the best care possible. I strive to deliver care to my patients with respect, compassion, and empathy. I am privileged to be in a position to help cancer patients and their families live full lives despite this life-changing diagnosis.
