EDUCATION
Denise Horvath, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, attended New York University (NYU), where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. In 2019, she completed a Master of Science degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, with training in family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN and emergency care.
EXPERIENCE
Denise is a nurse practitioner at The Lung Center of Nevada, a division of Comprehensive Cancer Centers where she manages treatment plans for patients with lung disease such as Asthma, COPD, and emphysema, among others.
Prior to joining Comprehensive, she served as a critical care nurse at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, caring for recovering patients in the cardiovascular care unit. Previously, she provided emergency and critical care as a flight nurse for Flight for Life and Mercy Air Services as well as a rapid response nurse for University Medical Center.
With her experience in emergency medicine and critical care, Denise teaches Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) classes to nurses, paramedics and physicians.
PERSONAL
In college, Denise was part of the NYU swimming team, which received the Scholar All-America Award. She has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross since 2005 and has assisted with post-disaster management for displaced families in Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Denise taught childbirth education and basic lifesaving skills as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal.
