EDUCATION
Dr. Vishisht Mehta attended the Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in India, receiving a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 2012. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. He later completed fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and an interventional pulmonary fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Mehta is the director of interventional pulmonology at the Lung Center of Nevada, a division of Comprehensive Cancer Centers, and he is the department chair of pulmonology at MountainView Hospital. He is fellowship-trained in interventional pulmonology, which specializes in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions.

Dr. Mehta has authored numerous scholarly articles and serves on the editorial boards of AI in Precision Oncology and European Radiology Experimental. He was an early career editorial board member at the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) for 2025. He has served as faculty, moderator and speaker at multiple professional conferences, most notably at numerous iterations of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and CHEST international meetings, in addition to being faculty at NAPCON in India.

In 2023, Dr. Mehta was recognized by Vegas Inc. with its 40 Under 40 award and in 2025 he received the Healthcare Partner of the Year award from the Nevada Cancer Coalition. He is an expert in the application of artificial intelligence in pulmonology, serving on inaugural committees for the ATS and CHEST journal and he is the founder of Pulmonary.ai. Additionally, he is the founder of the Nevada Lung Foundation, a philanthropic effort to improve lung cancer screening across the state, and a selection of his media work is listed at VishyMD.com.

PATIENT PHILOSOPHY
The two most important aspects of the patient-physician relationship are the patient’s goals of care and shared decision-making. It is important to recognize that goals of care are very individualized. They can vary for the same patient during different stages of their life and during different stages of treatment. In the same context, sharing the opportunity for the patient to make their own informed decision is another cornerstone of this relationship.
