Lung Cancer Screening Program
Comprehensive Cancer Centers is now working with par8o to manage a lung cancer screening program designed to increase early detection and ultimately save lives through care coordination. Given that lung cancer is the nation’s number one cause of cancer fatalities, the recent focus on scientific evidence and protocols presents a unique opportunity to save lives through improved screening, such as the program being administered by Comprehensive’s lung division in conjunction with the team at par8o.
“Comprehensive Cancer Centers has provided oncology services to Southern Nevada residents and visitors for more than 40 years,” said Jon Bilstein, Executive Director of Comprehensive. “Among the state-of-the-art technology, clinical research and the latest treatments that we offer our cancer patients, we also have a dedicated lung division to treat those with lung disease and help manage the referrals and care for those who might be diagnosed with lung cancer. We see our partnership with par8o as an integral way to deliver vital patient screening to the community and ultimately keep Southern Nevada healthy and strong. The goal is to increase early detection of lung cancer and improve patient outcomes and survival rates for our patients.”
The lung cancer screening program includes automated patient screening tools, care coordination and communication technology, and decision-support protocols to ensure that patients can move through the process for screening, diagnosis, and as appropriate treatment for lung disease or lung cancer.
Par8o, Inc., the largest referral management provider in the country, is part of Comprehensive’s lung cancer screening initiative in Nevada. The effort is designed to improve patient screening and care coordination at a population level, across multiple payers, providers, and health systems. The initiative would be the first to establish that a metropolitan-wide referral network can improve care coordination and ultimately save lives.
