Q. What are
your hours?
Our cancer center hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
Q. Do I need
a physician referral to see an oncologist?
Although not a requirement of Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada,
most patients come to the center for the first time through doctor
referrals. Cancer is usually first suspected or detected by primary
care physicians, gynecologists, internists, pathologists, surgeons,
or others.
Another consideration is your insurance coverage.
Some insurance companies require that you have a referral from your
primary care (or other) physician before seeing a specialist. If
this is a requirement of your insurance company, please make sure
that your primary care or other doctor has provided a referral before
scheduling your first appointment.
Q. Will I receive treatment on
the first day?
Most likely, chemotherapy or radiation treatment will not begin
on your initial visit.
